Heather Mills is having a hard time
Heather Mills is said to be having a hard time with the breakup of her marriage. She well might consider what she might have done differently. She seemed indifferent and uninterested in Paul McCartney's career. It was like she was only interested in using the connection to get "face time" on television, after having embraced all the trendy, lefty causes that Lady Diana had been promoting. The Digital Spy, Showbiz section, has the story. If she had been more attentive to Paul McCartney, he might not have dumped her. Instead, all she could do was to complain about Paul's "stinginess", like it was his job to pander to her whims and desires with money.
I now have lost 31.8 lbs in 24 weeks with Weight Watchers
I weighed in, today, and I was down 1.2 lbs from last week, for a total of 31.8 lbs in 24 weeks. I started on the last Saturday of February 2006. I am following the Weight Watchers Flex Plan, where I count points. I like the system, as it works (the critical point), I can eat things that I like, and I don't have to be hungry. For example, I have been eating potatoes about every day and have still lost weight. On the weekend, I have bacon and eggs, and grilled English muffins. I also go to Chili's at least once, and have queso and chips, when I do. I still lose weight.

The Hollywood Rag has a picture of the bra-less Jessica Simpson
The Hollywood Rag seems to be a good place for pics. For one thing, they have some Jessica Simpson shots with her without a bra under her dress.
Paul McCartney fired seven staff members
Paul McCartney apparently fired seven staffmembers in New York, thought to have ties with Heather Mills, his soon to be ex-wife. Beatlesnumber9, at WalrusGumBoot, has the story.
Ed Morrissey writes about Ned Lamont and his Wal-Mart stock
Ned Lamont uses the tired leftist theme of the "Evil Wal-Mart". Now, we find out that he and his wife own stock in the company, and that it pays well. Ed Morrissey has a post on the subject:
This week has provided some revelation about the honesty of Ned Lamont, whose primary run to unseat Joe Lieberman has captured the nation's attention. Earlier today I posted about his sudden case of amnesia when one of his key blogosphere supporters decided to use race-baiting to attack Lieberman on Lamont's behalf. Now it appears that Lamont used Wal-Mart, the liberal bete noir, as a punching bag without telling anyone that he owned a chunk of the retailer's stock

Razib, at Gene Expression, links to interesting survey results
Razib links to an article about survey results from the Pew Global Attitude project. Razib says that we need to look at German and German Muslim attitudes, as they are "kind of strange".
It turns out that the Yahoo Mail beta doesn't work as well at home
The Yahoo Mail beta that works so well at work does not work so well at home. It is better than it was, but I can see know that the issue is that the time to load is the dominant factor. Being very AJAX intensive, the beta loads items as you scroll. Apparently my download time is slow enough to show, while on a T1 line, you don't see that as a factor.

Gmail seems pretty lame, compared to the Yahoo Mail beta
I have a few hours under my belt now, with the Yahoo Mail beta, and I am liking it even more. After having used it, Gmail now seems lame, although Gmail was better than the traditional Yahoo Mail was. I have been a Yahoo Mail user since 2000, and I am a paying customer, for better or worse. I am committed now, as I have a good bit that I have sent to my Yahoo Mail account.
I switched to the Yahoo Mail beta
I had tried an earlier version of the Yahoo Mail beta in Firefox, and gave up at the time. In fact, I tried it several times, but it was overwhelming Firefox. I just switched back to the beta in IE6, and the current version is very good. The performance issues are gone, and they integrate so well that I can get a right-click menu, while in Gmail, if I right click, I get a browser menu, not a Gmail menu. I have only been using it for an hour, so we shall see if there are any lurking issues, but so far, I like what I see.

Mel Gibson has succeeded in severely damaging his career
During the theater run of "The Passion of the Christ", our leftist buddies took their best shot at taking down Mel Gibson. They hated to see a successful, Christian-oriented movie succeed. They failed at the time, but with this latest alcoholic incident, where came across as extremely obnoxious and anti-Semitic, Mel Gibson may have done the job himself. Drinking alcoholics have the ability to do great damage, and until he chooses to get clean, Mel Gibson will continue to be in trouble of this sort. Drudge said that Mel Gibson had been suicidal when this last deal happened. That is actually not that unusual for an alcoholic in the middle of his own "passion". The Australian has the story about Mel Gibson checking himself into a rehab program.
